About this work

Whether you are rebuilding an old deck or building a new one, we build to the code of the state the job is in, Massachusetts or Rhode Island, with the materials you choose: composite boards, pressure-treated wood, vinyl, wood or metal railings.

We also rebuild the stacked front and back porches on two- and three-family houses, and we build roof decks on flat roofs in the city, framing, boards and railing, so a roof becomes a place to sit.

We do this work in Newton, Wellesley, Needham, Brookline, Weston, Wayland, Natick, Dedham and the towns around Boston, out of our office in Taunton. Full service area.

Questions people ask

Composite or wood?

Composite costs more up front and needs very little upkeep. Pressure-treated wood costs less and can be stained or painted. We build with either; tell us how you will use the deck and we will tell you what we would pick.

Do I need a permit for a deck?

In most towns, yes. Rules differ from town to town and between Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We will tell you what applies to your project before we start.

Can you build a deck on a flat roof?

Yes. We have built roof decks with composite decking and metal railings on flat roofs in the city.
